Let's go on a treasure hunt!
We will begin by making special goggles/glasses out of recycled materials. These can then be used to help you go on a treasure hunt around the scrap space looking for treasures! Treasure can be whatever you want it to be - bits of paper or fabric, decorated with your favourite things, beads or gems. All sorts of random things are there waiting for you to discover them.
Then we'll make and decorate treasure boxes to store your discoveries. This could be the beginning of a new collection or add to one you've already started.

Making Treasure Totems
Using what you can find in the scrap space we'll thread or stack objects on a central pole, or use wool to co next them. You could create a base from an old tin or a piece of wood. Create cardboard double sided shapes or silhouettes and conjur up a range of different characters to go on your totem pole.

Forest of People Workshop
Run by Hanna Boal
Join us for an engaging, hands-on art workshop where we’ll create small human figures using found objects and papier-mâché.
Using materials from the scrap space such as vessels, boxes, tubes, sticks, and more, we will build the body structures of our figures. We will create new forms by connecting reclaimed found objects.
We will layer found papers from books, music sheets, lists, newspapers, wrapping paper, bus tickets, dress patterns and other text-filled material over our forms to create a smooth outer surface as well as allowing us to sculpt additional features and character to our figures.
Ages 6-16 are welcome, you can accompany your child or if they are confident then they can be left. We are insured and DBS checked.
